Dont Worry, Run Happy

I love the song "Dont worry be happy" by Bob marley. Night before my runs, I always make sure to put that song in my ipod playlist. I felt relaxed when I listen to his song while running.  I also felt that Im temporary away from my problems and anxieties.

Many friends had asked me, What makes running a exciting and addicting sports for me.

As all  we know, running is painful, tedious, and exhausting exercise. plus, you need to skip friday night gimmiks to have enough sleep for weekend race events. I think the hardest part is, you have to wake up early in the morning just to run.

So, why do so many people addicted it?

People run for obvious reasons like to increase performance, to release stress,to stay in shape,
and to reach an ideal body weight. But for others, there is a certain feeling that they are addicted to.

Most of runner says that euphoria or so-called "runner's high that comes after a run is what motivates them most, They have experienced a happy feeling during and after the race called endorphin rush .

Endorphins are natural hormones that your brain releases when it senses happiness. These endorphins give you a sense of happiness, satisfaction and well-being. It is released during long, continuous workouts, when the level of intensity is between moderate and high, and breathing is difficult. This also corresponds with the time that muscles use up their stored glycogen.

During a release of endorphins the person may be exposed to bodily harm from strenuous bodily functions after going past his or her body's physical limit. This means that runners can keep running despite pain, continuously surpassing what they once considered to be their limit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endorphin#Runner.27s_high

Thank you for all the work you have done to post this on the internet. Your comment about "nothing is impossible with God" couldn't be truer. I was stationed in the Philippines from 1976 to 1978, a total of two and a half years. I too was totally blown away (no pun attended) by the destruction that a volcano can produce. It is one of God's most evident demonstration of HIS Power. He holds all things by His power, even the healing of the land.
